A small update, a big bug fix.
So my laptop remains dead, unable to fix it... but I managed to cobble together bits from an even older laptop to at least fix this bug I remembered would probably be in the Hallway of the house where it would load in rotated. I was testing a system I was thinking of using for something later on and I left it enabled in the hall because my laptop dying caused me to kinda forget a lot of things.
Not the most auspicious way to launch the game even in an early state. Woof.
Well, it's fixed now. Sorry about that. You should be able to get up the forest road to the tavern and explore the rooms I have drawn so far now. Man that was stupid.
I'm going to try and work on the game as I can with this hardware but it's making some scary noises and runs pretty slow. I might have to cut even more from the game in order to make sure I get it out but I really need to (for my own sake) release this game by October. I've not finished a game in the nearly 20 years I have been working on them as a hobby on and off and I need to at least get this one done.
I am also aware I may have to mix up the audio I developed this with studio headphones and I realized when testing on my TV that things were pretty quiet.
I probably wont be able to drawn any more for a week, my wrist is kinda messed up and I seem to have lost grip strength with my thumb so I am trying not to make that any worse. If I can work on anything game related this week I might compose the single song I had planned for it or work on code related stuff. Unfortunately though, a lot of stuff I have yet to do is drawing and animating assets so this is frustrating.
Honestly though I am just glad I have anything to work with. Hopefully it lasts long enough for me to get a new one. Looks like around $400 for something used that should be plenty of power for what I am up to.
Again; Sorry about the hallway bug. Can't believe I forgot about that. Cheers.
